It would be fair to say that many of us are this week preoccupied with the commercial side of Christmas – caught up with the last minute present buying . And many hours are spent wracking our brains trying to choose something that the gift receivers actually would want and like.
Well, although perhaps too late for this festive season, our Startup of The Week is certainly a place to bear in mind for the future – whether buying a gift or buying for yourself.
New York based Broodr was launched earlier this year and its’ mission is “ To help people spread and sell their dreams. “
Broodr is an online marketplace designed to directly connect sellers of unique products, designs and inventions to customers who want to purchase unique, exciting and original products.
Creative entrepreneurs from all around the world can link with buyers . Many of the products have a tech-y feel but there are others that are just quirky and always creative. And having been described as being like “Etsy for Geeks” , it’s certainly the perfect place for a browse.
Sellers generally fall into 3 categories:
– Small Businesses who can set up a shop to sell their unique and innovative products
– People selling original and handmade work
– People who have ideas or prototypes who can test the market
Broodr uses Paypal as its’ payment platform and all sellers are paid instantly, with Broodr taking simply a 5% commission fee.
So, whether you are someone with an invention or a quirky product that you would like to sell, or you want to buy something that is truly innovative and unique, Broodr should be a must.
