“Life is too short for bad coffee” -Anonymous
For many of us the day doesn’t really begin until we have had our first cup, or in some cases, pot of coffee. Whilst some people may be content with anything bearing the coffee name, even if it only has the tiniest molecule of caffeine therein, for many others coffee drinking is more of an experience and in many cases becomes a passion. If you are one of those people who truly love your coffee, then we think you are probably going to love this week’s Startup of The Week.
Kopi is a gourmet coffee company which delivers single estate coffees from all around the world right to your door.
A new coffee is chosen each month by the Kopi experts who know first hand some of the world’s best coffee regions and farmers, and who work at a level that supermarket buyers don’t which is why Kopi coffees won’t be found in any supermarket aisle.
There are 3 Subscription plans available , starting from £7 per month which will mean that :
Every month, you can then receive “ a box of loveliness through your letterbox” containing :
– 250g of this hand picked single estate coffee
– a booklet and a guide highlighting the background and provenance to that month’s coffee, aroma and tasting notes and a brewer’s guide
– and occasionally a “mystery delight” like a free sample of upcoming coffee or a measuring scoop.
And with regards to the price that Kopi pays the farmers and growers? Only premium prices are paid – well above the cost of production or the Fairtrade minimum.
Since subscription services like this seem to certainly be on the rise and our love affair with coffee is set to continue, we think that you’ll be hearing a lot more about Kopi in the next while. Click here to check out Kopi for yourself .
