When you think of a place that you love – a place where you once lived or a place where you had an amazing holiday, nothing evokes memories of that place like a photograph.

And whilst for some of us, going through old holiday snaps or family photos might be enough, they still can’t really compare with a professional quality image of that special place. And owning such a professional image is exactly what our latest Startup Of The Week will allow you to do.

Our startup Of The Week this week, is a brand new platform which is showcasing and selling quality landscape photography from all over the world.

Lokofoto is an online portal where :

– local photographers from all around the world upload their photographs, which are all tagged with the location where they were taken
– the photograph is then entered into an admissions competition and the Lokofoto community then votes on their favourites
– the best photos with the most votes are then submitted to the Lokofoto collection where the prints can then be bought by the public

Lokofoto is an innovative crowdsourcing curation site which is not only providing a new marketplace for photographers and opening their work up to a wider audience, but which is also opening up photography to an entirely new customer base. Collectors and diaspora alike will surely be embracing this new platform with open arms.
