Imagine One Born Every Minute but set in a Recruitment Agency.
Having worked in recruitment for approx 9 years, it is easy to understand the link. There’s a load of pain, hard graft, blood, sweat and tears and along the way a great deal of relief and joy. I left my stint in recruitment midway through the recession, and whilst admittedly it was in fact a joy to leave (it was certainly a rebirth for me after the point of redundancy) often my time in recruitment felt more like a Greek tragedy rather than a straightlaced docudrama. Which is why (forgive the regressing) that on TheEmployable today we’re highlighting the news that Dragonfly TV, the makers of Channel 4’s One Born Every Minute, are on the lookout for recruitment firms to take part in a fly-on-the-wall documentary.
Dragonfly says: “We want to know what makes someone employable, how recruitment works and how you match the best people with the best jobs, all through the precinct of a vibrant and successful recruitment agency.
“We would like to make a warm and original series which gives the viewers an insight into the day-to-day workings of an office and then follow through into how candidates get placed into a workplace and how they get on with their new job.”
Of course whilst TheEmployable reckons that a comedy of sorts would also be a wise TV genre to set a fly on the wall Recruitment Agency show in, we look forward with warmness and intrigue at the birth of this new show…
