Interested in self employment? **Ideas wanted**
4 months ago, our sister site, Startacus – the self start society launched. TheEmployable, always keen to highlight social impact initiatives, thought it was only fair (yes slightly opportunist too!) to let you know that the collaboration and ideas section to the site will launch in the next week or two… Check out the info below:
Have you hit a brick wall for the second time today? Do you have good creative ideas but feel unsure about what to do next or feel unable to take that next step?
The good news is you’re not alone. Many people continue to be baffled by the small print, bureaucracy, terminology, and even language which abounds and which acts like a barrier, preventing them from going any further with their ideas. The wall they meet seems to be just too big to climb. As for the ideas? They remain just that…ideas.
Or perhaps you have taken that next step. You’re one of those people who has had the time, resources and support network to take your idea and let it grow. You have learnt the tools of the trade so to speak. Would you love to now share your knowledge and self starter experience with others?
Enabling that sharing and removing those barriers is, in a nutshell, the ethos behind Startacus and the self start society – the bringing together of the dormant and the more experienced self starter. It’s a place where self starters and great minds come together, to collaborate on those big ideas and make them more of a reality.
The Startacus collaboration platform will provide a unique dedicated space where projects and ideas can be worked on; where connections between self starters can be made and where all the tips, resources and tools needed will be signposted.
This stage of the site is due to launch in the next couple of weeks. If you have an idea for a business, already have a startup but need some more ideas, or just would like a space to note your thoughts and plans, then this will be the place for you. You will be able to create public and private workspaces, request to help others, and seek collaborators to help make your own ideas a reality. And if you only need help with certain aspects of your project or business, that’s fine too – you can create workspaces that are specific to your own individual needs.
So how can you get involved? Well, for starters, please register as a Startacus member. Help grow the self start society by sharing this on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, your corner shop!
