Top 5 Freelance Job Sites

As its’ name would suggest, this site has short term projects requiring just a few hours’ work as well as projects of a longer term nature. Users can create a profile including an optional 30 second video, search for jobs and send proposals for projects. Again, a review section allows previous work to be rated which assists with increasing a freelancer’s profile. The integrated Workstream interface makes invoicing and payments straightforward for both hiring companies as well as freelancers.

Elance
With over 1.7 million people on its’ database, Elance professes to provide: “instant access to great talent.” Programming, Marketing, Creative and Administrative skills are all profiled and sought on the site. When creating a profile, users are also able to test their skills and thereby help back up what they are claiming their abilities are. Freelancers can send up to 15 proposals for projects each month as well of course as waiting to be contacted by interested employers.

oDesk
With over 2 million freelancers registered on its’ database. this site claims to be the Number 1 in terms of annual earnings achieved by its’ users. Again as part of the profile creation, users are encouraged to undertake oDesk tests to help build their portfolio and improve their credibility. There are over 75 job categories on offer, featuring everything from blogging to app development. Again feedback is encouraged from employers, to further strengthen the profiles of the oDesk community.
